Grand Master John So

Background

Grand Master John So (10th degree black belt) was born and raised in South Korea and began learning the Martial Arts, specifically Dang Soo Do, at the age of nine. During his middle school thru college years, Master So studied Hap Ki Do as well as Kumdo (Japanese Kendo), Kung Fu, Boxing, Judo, Tai Chi (Taijiquwan), and Chi Kung (Qi Gong).

In the 1960's during his military career, he instructed the Korean and U.S. military forces in the Martial Arts. Since his arrival in the United States in 1976, John So has been teaching law enforcement agencies including the military police, police departments, Bexar County Sheriff's Department (Texas), and the Fort Sam military police and the state police academy in Monterrey, Mexico, as well as many other organizations.

In addition, Grand Master So is also the Arthur of Hap Ki Do / Taichi books. At this time, Grand Master So is working on a Police Tactics training manual and also Police Tactics training video as well as New
TaeGuck Hapkido book and videos

Grand Master So is the founder and president of the Universal Martial Arts Association in TaeGuck Hapkido system.
New concept for 21st century, It is called TAEGUCK MOO SOOL. Grandmaster So is a Board Member of Educator for Korean International Hapkido Accreditation Program (KIHAP).
